Righeira – Luciano Serra Pilota

  • By: Macca

About Righeira there’re not so many spoken words and even less written words. Hurriedlly they’ve been sold off as a typical Italian 80s freakshow band and surely they can’t boast an electro-maudit background like Krisma, but only two or three tracks engraved in the collective memory of the Italian XX century culture.

So the Turin-based duo was the accidental standard-bearer of Italo Disco all around the world, but actually they’re conceptually closer to The Clash than the four-on-the-floor fillers that were smash hits back in the 80s. And for that reason I’d like to bring attention to this less-known song called “Luciano Serra pilota”, which in my opinion is true electrosynth masterpiece with a sort of “punky” feeling in the lyrics (Luciano Serra Pilota is the title of an early 1940s Italian Fascism propaganda movie...).

Produced by La Bionda brothers…and that’s the quality seal !

P.S.: in the video below you can hear a pitched down version

Take a look also to the original rare 80s videoclip (so you can listen to the real speed of the song):
