It was February, 17th 1965 when legendary Piper Club opened up his doors in Rome. Since that first revelry night italian boys and girls never stopped dancing, having fun, listening to music and riding new fashion styles coming from Europe and United States.
This interesting book by Alessandra Izzo and Tiziano Tarli edited by Arcana Edizioni, describes what happened in Italy during the dancing nights from the Sixties to the Nineties, with lots of accurate descriptions of the most significant clubs of the Belpaese: Piper Club (Rome), La Capannina (Forte dei Marmi), Folk Studio (Rome), Baia degli Angeli (Gabicce Mare), Nepentha (Milan), Space Electronic (Florence), Easy Going (Rome), Kiss Kiss (Naples) and many others. Some discos were iconic not only for music or styles, but for their architecture also: take a look to this page of the Istitute of Contemporary Arts in London.
The second part of this book is dedicated to interviews with people who lived that decades such Ernesto Assante, Awana-Gana, Claudio Cecchetto, Roberto d’Agostino and many others.
In conclusion, if you wish to discover another fascinating and less-known slice of Italy, don’t wait and go immediately to read this up!
