The artist must find his instrument to express what's inside of him; something able to transform an internal emotion to an external symbolic expression of that emotion. Andy Summers, best known as the lead guitarist of the Police, found two instruments: guitar and photo camera. In this post we talk about Andy Summers as photographer, showing some pics from his production, especially from the photo serie “I’ll be watching you: inside the Police 1980-1983”, in which we can have a glance from inside as it might be virtually on tour with one of the most important band of the planet at that time. Most of his photos and stories behind them can be watched on the documentary directed by Andy Grieve and Lauren Lazin “Can’t stand loosing you: surviving the Police”.
